6 Days Rwanda Primates and Cultural Tour

Rwanda is known to the world as home of primates like the rare mountain gorillas, the 6 days in Rwanda takes you close to these gentle giants, Chimpanzees, rich cultural heritage and relaxation at the beautiful lake Kivu beach. The commemoration of the 1994 genocide tragedy make you realize how bad the country was hit and curry forward the “Never Again” campaign.

Itinerary in Detail

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International airport in Rwanda, you will meet and greet with your driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel of stay in Kigali. Dinner and overnight at Flame Tree Village (Mid-range) /Serena Hotel (Luxury)/Five to Five (Budget).

Day 2: Kigali City tour and transfer to Volcanoes national park.

In the morning, after your breakfast go for a city tour. visit the genocide memorial site, national museum. After lunch enjoy a scenic country drive to the Volcanoes national park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.

Spend the evening at Iby’wachu Cultural Village where you will learn more about the Banyarwanda (Rwandese) cultural practices and their tradition. Dinner and overnight at at Mountain Gorillas view Hotel/ 5 Volcanoes Lodge (Luxury)/ Da Vinci Lodge, Gorilla Solution Lodge, Le bamboo Lodge (Mid-range) /Muhabura Hotel (Budget)

Day 3: Gorilla tracking and afternoon Nature walk.

Today attend to briefs from the senior park ranger. Your driver guide will transfer you to the starting point of the gorilla trek along with other trackers. Upon encountering the gorillas, spend an hour taking photography and observing their fascinating acrobatics. Later return to your Hotel for Relaxation. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk, where you will be entertained by the Banyarwanda community, or go for nature walk to the lakes and caves. Day 4: Dian Fossey Hike and transfer to Lake Kivu.

This morning, undertake a hike up to Karisoke research Centre, established by Dian Fossey. Learn more about the activities of Dian Fossey of mountain gorilla conservation. On return, you will transfer you to Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel (Luxury)/ Stipp Hotel/Paradise Malahide/Water front resort ((mid-range).

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park.

Following your relaxed breakfast, transfer to Nyungwe national park with en-route stop overs for photography and lunch.

Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury) / Nyungwe top view hotel (Mid-range),Gisakura guest house(budget).

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and Return to Kigali.

After your breakfast head to the park headquarters for briefing before embarking on chimp tracking; later transfer back to Kigali with en route visit to the King’s Palace at Nyanza, Butare Museums and Murambi Genocide Memorial Site.
